Homework club
  • Homework club is available every Monday – Thursday after school until 4:30pm in the library.
  • ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) is designed to support the emotional needs of students from within their own resources. This intervention aims to address their emotional needs allowing them to learn better and be happier in school.
  • Mentoring sessions aim to target specific needs of the student from academic to social needs. All sessions are delivered by members of staff with a specialist in the subject.
  • Buddy Readers is an initiative involving Year 10 and Year 7 students reading together on a Monday morning. Year 10 students are trained in reciprocal reading strategies to support our Year 7 students with their reading. Come and see us in the library for a calm and focused beginning to the week.
  • Lexia is an online literacy software that allows students to develop their literacy skills independently and at their own pace.
  • Fresh start is a literacy intervention providing reading support through its focus of phonics allowing pupils to read and write at an appropriate level for mainstream education.
